Desdemona, Feb 20. W H Kelly lease foreman for an oil company, his wife, and their 6 year old daughter were fatally burned when their auto hit a gas pocket three miles north of Desdemona. The blast set fire to woods as two other Kelly children were severely injured but later expected to recover.

Five wounded in Ardmore pistol battle shocks county office
In Ardmore Oklahoma on February 20 five men were wounded during a pistol battle inside the County Attorney's office as Ewing London acting Sheriff and E T Skeets Martin clashed. Negroes confess to murders near Waco at Concord
In Waco area near Concord two African American men, L. C. Johnson and Bennie Young, confessed to killing W H Barker, his wife, and a 13 year old boy during a robbery attempt. They shot Barker, struck the wife with an ax, and killed the boy, hoping to take money. A 4 year old girl survived unseen. The arrests were kept secret until authorities moved the suspects to Waxahachie for safekeeping.
