The Texas Good Roads Association adopted a resolution condemning highway tax diversion to non road uses and urging Congress to return highway funds to Texas. It reported $16.9 million collected from Texas highway users last year with only about half the amount for construction aid. The group said Texas needs 570.802 million to finish its highway system and calls for stronger motor vehicle laws to curb registration rackets. Oscar Burton of Tyler was elected president, with Joe M. Leonard of Gainesville as first VP and Max Starcke of Austin as second VP.
