Expansion Due In Grayson County Sheep Program
Grayson County reports show the sheep flock held its own after a 1937 expansion begun by County Agent W. O. Teddlie. Lambing season is reported satisfactory and some farms see up to 125 percent increases with no heavy losses despite severe weather. Wolf damage forced some Northwest farmers to quit sheep and turkey raising along Red River and in Pecan Grove. Wool sales were profitable last season as growers bypassed the marketing association for direct sales, though those who stayed benefited from a price rise.
