Cub Scout Pack 5 held a Blue and Gold Banquet at Firemen's Hall with about 100 attendees. Karen Anne Darwin daughter of Mr and Mrs Houston Darwin of Whitewright recently completed requirements for a B S degree from Harding College Searcy Arkansas She majored in Vocational Home Economics with a minor in social studies and will be Program Director with Dairy Council Inc Fort Smith Arkansas working with groups across 18 counties in Arkansas and Oklahoma to promote nutrition and dairy products She will also appear weekly on Noon on 5 a television show in Fort Smith Arkansas.

Registration season opens February 1 for Texas vehicle owners
Texas motorists are urged to register early at county tax offices or sub stations for the 1971 license plates. The renewal form, mailed by the Highway Department, speeds processing. mail renewal is also possible with a $1 per vehicle fee and a 30 day delivery window to meet the April 1 deadline. In prior years 65 percent used computerized renewals, and this year is expected to improve.
