Funeral services for Colonel John Davenport in Dallas
Colonel John Davenport 77 died Friday night at his Dallas home. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Dallas with Wallace Mynatt officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery with six pallbearers. Davenport born September 28 1883 in Tennessee married twice, survived by his wife four sons two daughters a sister ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.

Azel Adams aged 67 died Saturday at his Dallas home after a monthlong illness. He came to Whitewright in 1925 as a Ford dealer, ran the business about five years, then moved to Sherman and later Dallas. Survived by wife, a daughter Mrs. C. K. Warrick of Dallas, and two grandsons.
