Land market signals and soil-building crops in Blackland area

The land is marketed at 169 dollars per acre with government payments. The build soil by cash crops system yields 96.50 dollars per acre gross versus 62 dollars in the adjoining check plot. A farmer must gross about 35 per mile and 50 from cotton to break even. Dr. Lundell notes long-term averages matter and a good land-care system buffers bad years. The director cites 21 million cultivated Blackland acres and potential doubling of farm income, with Bill Holloway reported supplying plant food for six years on the project.
