Whitewright youth head to Breckenridge for ski trip
A six month effort by Whitewright residents culminated in 39 youths and sponsors boarding a chartered bus to Breckenridge Colorado for a three day ski vacation. The United Methodist Youth Fellowship raised about 3800 dollars plus a 1000 dollar donation, with each participant contributing 45 dollars. The drive included a successful dinner theatre and multiple fundraisers.

Mrs Bennett Better Home For Christmas After Leukemia
Mrs O A Winnie Bennett has returned home from Methodist Hospital in Dallas after 32 days of leukemia treatment. Doctors are pleased with her response to therapy and optimistic about fewer 5 day cycles after year start. Lions Club sponsored a Bloodmobile drive at the high school that collected blood from 22 donors with eight others unable to donate due to colds or other reasons. Visitors are advised to limit visits as doctors monitor her recovery and future treatment.
