Mr and Mrs W M Cox were informed by the War Department last week that their son Will J Cox was wounded in action on September 2. He has since sent letters and remains in a hospital though not seriously wounded and hopes to return home soon. He serves in Company H 359th Infantry 90th Division.

Dwelling Burns On West Grand Avenue
The two story Fleming residence on West Grand Avenue was nearly destroyed by fire last Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Everheart and her husband occupied rooms there and the blaze started in the kitchen when Mrs. Everheart lit an oil stove and left briefly. A south wind drove flames toward neighboring houses but the fire team contained it with two hose lines and a pump. Fleming carried $2100 insurance on house and contents. Everheart couple had no insurance.
