Woman Hurt in Fall at Sherman Federal Building

Mrs. J. S. McKee remained in critical condition after slipping on stone steps at the Federal Building in Sherman this afternoon. She sustained serious head injuries when she fell, and was hospitalized for treatment.

Electric Lines Will Be Built Soon In Whitewright Area

Rig Clark of the Texas Louisiana Power Company says crews will begin erecting a high power line from Whitewright to Leonard in late December or January. The project will also connect Whitewright to Farmersville and rebuild the Whitewright to Tom Bean line from single phase to three phase. A generating plant site is not yet announced. The company is expanding plants at Nocona and Blossom and may use those crews for the Whitewright plant.

Bank Robber Gets 99 Years In Pen

Jim Norton was found guilty of bank robbery in Dallas County and sentenced to 99 years in prison. The Irving State Bank vault heist on Aug 25, 1926, netted $7,000. Norton assaulted the bank cashier after verdict and was placed in solitary confinement. He followed a string of heavy sentences in the case.

Yancey Story charged with robbing the Farmers and Merchants National Bank at Krum a year ago had its trial reset to January 30 in Sherman after Judge Si las Hare quashed the venire. The defense objected to the venire transfer order and Judge C A Pippen of Dallas amended it.

Will Solicit Funds For Boy Scouts In Whitewright

A committee has begun soliciting funds to finance a Whitewright Boy Scout troop for one year. The campaign aims to raise 350 dollars for a scout hut and the county scout master's quota. Ford Moore of Sherman has donated 250 dollars toward a hut, and 42 local boys have applied to Scoutmaster J H Hawkins. The county scoutmaster will assist, with Grayson County towns like Van Alstyne and Bells already hosting troops.

Mrs. A. J. Reeves Rites Held At Presbyterian Church

Mrs. A J Reeves died at home after a long illness aged fifty nine. Born in Leake County Mississippi she moved to Texas with her parents fifty years ago. She married A J Reeves forty years ago and leaves seven children two surviving John L Reeves Whitewright and Henry Reeves Amarillo.
