Sherman memorial notice for Mrs Frances Vernia Maxey widow of Ardmore Maxey who died recently and was buried at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. Born in Bonham she was a daughter of Andrew and Millie Higgs. She married Ardmore Maxey in 1919 and lived in Whites Wright before moving to Sherman. Survivors include three daughters Mrs Ebbie Watson Jr of Sherman Mrs Jeremiah Moore of Richmond Hill New York and Mrs Marvin Brown of Austin a brother Andrew Higgs of Dallas and 11 grandchildren.
The Texas Farm and Ranch Safety Council seeks nominations for its Rural Heroism Award to honor a Texas resident from a rural area or town under 2500. A plaque will be presented March 18, 1968 at the Dallas Safety Conference. Nominations must include full names, details of the deed, and supporting clippings by March 1, 1968 to Bob Walsh in Fort Worth.
