Tragic Denison Crash Kills Clifton Andrews at Crossing
Clifton Andrews 24 of Whitewright died when his light Ford hit a Katy freight train at Armstrong crossing in Denison on Thanksgiving night. The crash derailed four cars, blocked the crossing for hours, and attracted hundreds. Andrews was thrown under the train wheels. his body was found east of the wreck. Funeral services were held in Whitewright. Reported passengers in the car included three Black youths. one local youth sought to exit near the scene.

Milk price cut by Chicago dairies shocks shoppers
Chicago dairies Friday announced a one cent a quart reduction in retail milk prices effective immediately. Home delivered milk will cost 21 1/2 cents a quart and store milk 19 2 cents, with the cut applying to buttermilk chocolate milk and cheese.

Eight year old Donald McEnaney Jr of Chicago died Monday at Bob Roberts Memorial Hospital after battling leukemia. He had celebrated Christmas eight days earlier, enjoyed a party on November 28, and received songs from Gene Autry by long distance. His parents recalled his joyful last days.
