Up to Thursday morning the three Whitewright gins had ginned 1,226 bales of cotton this season. Last week 385 bales were ginned, and last year on the same date 910 bales had been ginned, showing a 316 bale lead over last year. Prices fell from 9c to 8.50c per pound, with seed at 16.00 a ton.

A new Congress act ends 18 month terms for WPA workers, releasing 13 sewing room workers and a few men for 30 days while others remain eligible for reinstatement.
