Denison visitors, typhoid cases, births and illnesses fill a busy local page. Notables include Ben Savage and R W Gallaher’s Durant trip, Ruby Ross’s Sulphur visit, and several updates on typhoid and diphtheria cases. The Odeon shows The Libertine tonight, while Taditions of area families and travelers are noted across Denison and nearby towns.
Local items report the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Burton, Emma Randle’s lyceum travels, Mr. and Mrs. Perry’s Oklahoma trip after visiting S. H. Montgomery, and several families’ visits and moves. The night also notes Ida Graves returning from California after a visit, and Mrs. Graves's prior trip to Shreveport. Additional items report neighborhood moves, band director efforts, and local business updates including M. A. Jones' Nickel Store offers and new fire trucks for Sherman.
Mrs Bettie Stephens mother of Mrs W T Truett died at her daughter Mrs Fred Downing's home in Denison on Wednesday morning aged due to age. She leaves three daughters and four sons including Mrs Downing Mrs John Watson now in Bonham and Mrs Will Dunn of Commerce. Funeral and interment held in Bonham on Thursday morning with T H Truett and Mr and Mrs W T Truett accompanying the body.
To Piano Owners Prof C E Obenchain piano tuner and repairing specialist will be in town next week guest at the Smith House on Main Street. He is praised by piano tuners and manufacturers and a former president of the Piano Manufacturers Association calls him thoroughly competent. Phone orders addressed to Ady.
T H Truett, who runs a local furniture and undertaking business, has bought the stock of McKinsey and Sears and plans to consolidate it with his May Building holdings in the near future.
