Mrs Preston England 69 of 709 West Day Denison died at 12 20 pm Monday in a Denison hospital after a lengthy illness. Services were held 2 30 pm Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Whitewright with Wallace Mynatt minister. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Born April 15 1892 in Ida she married Preston England in Whitewright. Surviving include her parents E Edens Whitewright four sons Grady Texarkana H D San Bernardino Calif J D and Lester Denison three daughters Mrs E B Fendley Van Nyes Calif Mrs John Clemmons and Miss Willodean England Dallas two brothers Joe Edens Tulsa Jeff Edens Bonham and two sisters Mrs Jim Meador Beaumont Calif and Mrs W T Farrow Whitewright.
Funeral services were held in Paris Saturday for Mrs. James W. Goree 87 a noted Paris florist and Grayson County pioneer. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. She died Thursday in a Paris hospital. Survived by four daughters Ruth Eubank Houston Pearl Barnett Mabel Hutchison Sarah Goree Paris and son John Goree Paris.

In Indio California 11 year old Wanda Crozier sent her injured dog Pudge to the pound with a note begging for mercy. The poundmaster read the heartfelt message and notified Humane Society officials who covered the veterinary bill. After two weeks of care Pudge will be returned to Wanda.
Crowell Texas Denny Todd 17 son of Dick Todd the former Texas A&M and Washington Redskin player died from a cerebral hemorrhage found after football practice. He was a rancher in Foard County near Vernon. He collapsed after a Wednesday night doctors visit and never recovered. Coaches said he had no prior injury complaints from football.
T. T. (Son) Todd of Ambrose again produced the season’s first bale of cotton. The bale was ginned free at the Wright gin, with Todd receiving a premium on the seed. He later took his second bale to Hendrix, Oklahoma, where it was also ginned free.
