Veteran readjustment and rehabilitation guidance
A veteran must present original discharge or a certified copy to apply for readjustment allowance using VA Form 4-1382. Initial claims are filed with the application to determine unemployment or self employment. Disabled veterans may receive up to four years of training under Public Law 16, extendable if warranted, and may attend any VA approved educational institution needed for rehabilitation.

Automatic VA increases raise minimum education benefits for disabled vets
The Veterans Administration announced automatic increases in monthly subsistence for severely disabled veterans in approved education and training programs. Rates rise to 115 dollars for no dependents and 135 dollars with one dependent for 30 percent or more disability, with adjustments for dependents and continued provisions for tuition books supplies and tools.

New York. Canadian free dollars this year are selling at an 8 per cent discount, says A M Strong, vice president of American National Bank and Trust Company. Tourists to Canada can get about 108 Canadian dollars for every 100 United States. The transaction must be made in the United States. On July 10 1947 the State of Texas Grayson County and Whitesboro intervening units recovered a judgment in district court No 55656 against Mrs Jeany Williams unknown heirs and legal representatives for 240 78 in taxes and costs with interest at 6 per cent and foreclosures of liens. An order of sale issued to J M James and others to show cause October 6 1947 in Sherman for land on Buck Creek part of John Fizer survey described as starting northeast corner of a lot deeded March 4 1904 and containing about 12 acres for years 1930 to 1946 totaling 331 56 dollars plus interest penalties costs.
