Contract 15 Set for New Whitewright Baptist Church
Reavis and Son of Greenville won the bid to erect a brick veneer church in Whitewright, seating 400, with 22 Sunday school rooms, a kitchen, pastor’s study, and baptistry. Lindsey and Kilmer of Greenville are the architects. Construction will begin after razing the old building, with materials from it valued around 1000 dollars. Completion targeted by January 1, using local labor and local materials where possible. The project is funded by a church building fund already over 10000 dollars, boosted by a 1000 dollar gift from Kay Kimbell of Fort Worth.

Man Killed Near Here Identified and Suspect Charged
A man killed near the north highway four miles from town last Wednesday night was identified by relatives as W. H. Watts of Blue Oklahoma. Pascal Farley of the North Texas Seed Co. suspected the deceased had worked for him in 1923. Watts was buried Saturday at Saltillo. A negligent homicide charge against a Trenton resident was filed after an investigation by local authorities and bound over to the October term of Fifteenth district court with a $500 bond.

Mrs. T. J. Yowell Is Laid To Rest At Tom Bean
Funeral services were held at the Yowell residence near Tom Bean for 81 year old Mrs. T. J. Yowell. She died August 7 six weeks after her husband’s death on June 27. She lived in the Tom Bean community for 60 years and is survived by seven children including Mrs. J. F. Wheeless of Dallas and D. A. Yowell of Whitewright.
