State Agencies Seek 368 Million More in Tax Money
Texas state agencies request 368 million dollars more for the next two years, a 12.8 percent rise over current spending. The Legislature Budget Board released the figures with no comment. If accepted, this could trigger a 100 million dollar reduction under existing revenue limits. Comptroller Calvert noted 939,316,440 spent in the first 11 months, up 136,635,750 from last year, with highway funding accounting for over 60 million of the gain from federal sources.
