The Sun announces all notices of entertainments dinners benefits and memorials with admission or monetary consideration will be billed at regular advertising rates. It also states erroneous reflections will be corrected upon notification to the publisher.
Misses Margreta Fender and Velma Kirkpatrick hosted a week long house party for guests from McKinney Allen Dallas Fort Worth and Fort Worth. Activities included picnic breakfast dinner and morning gatherings at Whiterock Bethel home and at various homes with salads and readings. Texas fishing trip reports followed with claims of a twenty pound trout and kodak pictures from Oklahoma camp 35 miles northeast of Willian.
The Central Christian Church notes the return from vacation on August 2 and a morning sermon on The Divinity of Jesus as Manifest in His Compassion for Man. There is no evening service due to a revival meeting at the Church of Christ. A. E. Major, Pastor.

Dallas authorities report more than 20 people bitten by mad dogs in the past week. Sunday brought five additional child bites with rabies. Most victims are under treatment by local physicians. Two rabid dogs were killed early Sunday.

Camp and two sons from Sayre Oklahoma with Mr. and Mrs. Dicus of Gordonville visited George Gattis. Rev. and Mrs. C. R. Truett and children of Caddo visit his parents W. T. Truett and relatives. Clyde Craig recovering from appendectomy in Sherman last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. D. S. McMillin returned from Sherman where Mrs. McMillin had tonsils removed. Now is the time to have old furniture repaired and varnished by W. J. Looney.
On Monday July 30 A F Vestal received a surprise birthday dinner planned by his children as guests arrived with boxes of gifts and warm wishes for the family gathering.
The note describes a gathering with five children, four in-laws, nine teenage grandchildren and three visitors. Also present were Rev. Drewery Miss Stella Milburne and Paul Smith. The day was enjoyed by all.
Lucian Andrews secretary of the Texas Rural Letter Carriers Association has learned A. P. Lang president of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association will attend the 21st annual Texas association convention in Temple on August 6.
Mrs Mae Manning traveled to Ada Oklahoma on Tuesday to attend the wedding of Miss Julia Nicholson and Johnny Biles which took place at high noon on Wednesday.
Mr Ernest Fixley and Miss Rossey Anna Blanton wed last Saturday morning with Rev G M Mc Neilly officiating. The groom teaches at the State Normal in Durant Oklahoma and previously worked as a telegraph operator at the tower.
Miss Marguerite Montgomery returned from Ada Oklahoma today to attend the marriage of Miss Julia Nicholson. She was accompanied home by Miss Gertrude Montgomery who taught in the Ada State Normal College summer school.
W. B. Hestand returned to Bastrop Tuesday to take charge of a wholesale grocery recently purchased by Kay Gimbell. Henry Reeves accompanied him and will work for Mr. Hestand.
Mrs Mary Ryan departed on Wednesday to Boston to enroll in an expression and physical training course.
Miss Estelle Montgomery came home last Thursday after visiting relatives in Groesbeck and Dallas. She traveled back with the three Montgomery children from Dallas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Montgomery.
Mr and Mrs Lucian LaRoe and two daughters join Mr and Mrs R H May and children Mr and Mrs J P Haden of Durant Okla Mrs Bess Lewis of Rusk Alton May and Miss Verma Mangrum for a Sunday get together at Woodlake with extended family present.
Misses Marian Barbee Bessie Joe Barbee Lucille Harris Joe Johnson and Paul Cook visited Sherman on Tuesday evening. They called on Clyde Craig at Sherman Hospital where he is recovering from an appendicitis operation.

J. A. Harper and Miss Zelma Mc Coy of the east community were married Tuesday and are on their honeymoon in South Texas. They belong to two highly respected families with many friends who wish them lasting happiness.
Rev J A Old of Commerce leads a revival at Marvin Methodist Church northeast of town assisted by pastor Rev Earl Jones. Old, a former Grayson College student, taught at Orangeville after completing his course at Grayson.
Mrs. P. R. Johnson gave a dinner last Friday in celebration of Mr. Johnson's 76th birthday anniversary. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Johnson and daughter of Fort Worth, Miss Frances Johnson of Ferris, and Dr. and Mrs. C. P. Johnson and daughter. The host's friends hope he enjoys many more such occasions.
Miss Elizabeth Groves entertained the Westminster Guild of the Presbyterian Church at her home on Wednesday afternoon. A program on Industrial Work and Its Importance was led by Mrs. T. E. Barbee, followed by a kitchen shower for Mrs. Fred Cook. Refreshments were served to twenty guests.
On Monday evening Miss Velma Kirkpatrick entertained guests of Miss Margreta Fender and herself with an informal dinner. Following the dinner several young men attended and the group enjoyed a game of progressive forty two and other amusements. A salad course was served. Guests included Misses Mary Ruth Sneed Mary Poston Marguerite Parsons Dorothy Parsons Imogene Berry Margreta Fender Lucile Wilson Estelle Montgomery and Messrs Will Boone Jack Webster Bill Mize Aubrey.
