Brighten Lawn by Use of Fertilizer
College Station guidance from E M Trew on spring lawn care recommends a 2-1-1 or 1-1-1 fertilizer to supply two pounds of actual nitrogen per 1000 square feet. Apply every 30 to 40 days for color, water as needed, mow with a sharp blade, and maintain 1.5 to 2 inch height to prevent weak roots and weed growth.
