He was born August 31, 1887 west of Whitewright, married Lytle Biggerstaff in 1918, and was a retired farmer and Church of Christ deacon. Survivors include his wife two daughters a son a cousin two sisters and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday in Earnheart chapel for Willie Elmer Alley 54 found dead at home Saturday. Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery south of Whitewright. Born December 31 1910 in Blue Ridge he was son of Joe and Amanda Alley and worked in the margarine division of Anderson Clayton Co in Sherman. He was a Baptist. Surviving are four brothers Lee Alley Lubbock Charlie Alley Grover Earl Alley Denison Jeff Alley Tom Bean and three sisters Vera Davis Whitewright Bob Biggerstaff Tom Bean Georgie Cauthen Cooper plus several nephews and nieces.
C W Arney of Bonham longtime Ely area farmer died Sunday in a Bonham nursing home. Funeral services were held Wednesday with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Born October 16 1881 in Tennessee he married Etta Sells June 20 1909 in Ashburn Creek Tennessee. Survivors include wife two sons Albert Arney of Bonham Jack Arney of Denison two daughters Norene Mangum of St Louis Mo and Marie Myers of Las Vegas Nev a sister Myrtie Daniels of Garvin Oklahoma nine grand children and one great grandchild.
Denison Grayson County Sheriff Woody Blanton says the investigation into railroad thefts in a $250,000 box car burglary ring has ended. City Atty. Dean Martin expects two to three weeks to prepare cases for the grand jury. Seventeen suspects face 61 counts of theft or burglary, with thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise recovered, including tires televisions groceries and whiskey.
