The Denison Current Book Club plans its third meeting at 7:30 p.m. next Monday at the Methodist Church. Speakers Mr and Mrs John Clift of Denison will discuss Carl Crow's Four Hundred Million Customers. Mr Clift worked with The Denison Herald and led Stars and Stripes Shanghai. Mrs Clift comes from China via Time and Life magazines. The Clifts chose Crow for his twenty five years in China and his expert view on its problems.

Future Farmers Baby Beef Show Highlights Local Youth
J A Harper won the grand champion award and David Brooks the reserve honors as Whitewright High School Future Farmers of America held their annual baby beef show on the trade grounds Saturday. Judge Doyle Williams presided with O V Barker directing. Cash prizes were donated by local merchants with $10 for first in each class, $7.50 for second, and $5 for third. Each exhibitor received $3 per calf and the grand champion added $3. Winners in the 800 pound and below class were David Brooks first, Whitewright FFA second, Orville Henry Russell third. In the 800 pound and over class J A Harper first, Coy Joe Vandergriff second, Orville Henry Russell third. Calves will be shown this week at the Red River Valley Livestock Exposition and sold Friday afternoon at the auction there.
