Public school children lead a local tin can collection to support the national drive for copper in cans. A Friday truck rounds homes to pick up cans placed at the curb and boxes of old cars. assistance from Grammar School boys is available for those unable to prepare their donations.
The regional Office of Price Administration announced a flexible interpretation of rationing rules allowing rendering fats and bones from carcasses to be sold as animal food and other nonedible uses. Lean trimmings mixed with fats and bones may also be sold point free. The policy, effective until April 11, aims to aid dog owners and dog lovers nationwide.

In Whitewright during the past week three elections drew 48 voters. C. J. Meador and G. C. Stateville won two school trustee seats with 15 votes each. District No 42 reelects Russell Summers with eight votes. City commissioners Guy Hamilton and R. P. Childress were re elected without opposition in a 25 vote city race.

COLLEGE STATION Texas 418 000 ranchmen and farmers began signing for the 1943 Food For Freedom program but sign ups are tapering as counties file final reports. About 90 percent have pledged for maximum production under war program with increases in nearly all commodities. Final adjustment date is June 1 and no changes after.
