Aged farmer dies in grass fire at Georgetown Denison
The charred body of R. L. Hosford, 77, longtime Grayson County resident, was found in a Georgetown field near Denison Saturday afternoon after his clothing ignited while he burned grass. He had gone to the field alone around 2 o'clock and the exact time of death is unknown.

In Saturday’s election forty six votes were cast to fill four seats on the Whitewright school board. New members are Lloyd Moore and B B Hall, joining F E Douglas and J R Pennington. Incumbents Emmet Penn and T E Barbee retire after eight years. All candidates ran unopposed. some voters scratched their own names.

Hassell Appeal Hearing Set for May 11
In Austin on April 6 the Court of Criminal Appeals received the appeal of Geo. J. Hassell, accused slayer of 13 persons. The case, from Palmer County Court where he was convicted of murder and condemned to death, now faces a hearing on May 11. Hassell had a 30 day reprieve granted by Gov. Moody before an insanity review.
