Destructive Sherman Storm Damages City Structures
A severe April storm hit Sherman at 2 a.m. causing extensive damage across the city. The G B R Smith Milling Company plant suffered major loss including a collapsed smokestack and roof damage estimated at 4 000 to 6 000 dollars. The opera house, Sid Homsteadt building, jail, courthouse, churches, hospitals, schools, residences and telegraph offices all sustained damage with total losses running into thousands, all insured against tornado or cyclone per incident reports. Human life was spared.

Mrs. A. M. Vineyard Dies After Prolonged Illness
Mrs. A M Vineyard aged 72 died Monday at her daughter Mrs J M Carlisle’s home in North Whitewright after eight weeks of cancer. She leaves daughters Mrs B E Smallwood San Antonio, Mrs W W Shepherd Arlington, Mrs J J Delaney Sherman, and Mrs J M Carlisle here. Body to Hillsboro for interment. accompanied by three daughters and Justin Carlisle. Native of Louisiana, resided in Hillsboro 45 years.

Seven Year Old Everheart Dies. Interment Delayed for Grandmother
Julia Pauline Everheart seven daughter of Mr and Mrs John Everheart of Bonham died last Saturday night. Remains arrived by the first afternoon train and were taken to Oak Hill Cemetery but burial was postponed until the grandmother Mrs D C H Bradford could arrive from Oklahoma. The parents formerly lived in Whitewright and many friends accompanied the body to the cemetery where Rev Nash conducted services. Attorney Justin Carlisle of Sherman visited his father in Bonham and was among attorneys who represented Dug Henry in a Bonham suit against the Cotton Belt By Co resulting in a ten thousand dollar judgment for the Henry child accident last summer.
