March 27 meeting at Mrs Lee H Smith home featured guest speaker Mrs Rex Ray of Bonham discussing Women of the Orient. She spoke on changes in women's status since Christianity and modern communications and noted dress, athletics, and leadership roles.
Mr and Mrs Curtis R Lightfoot of Tuscaloosa Alabama announce the engagement of their daughter Marguerite to Gene Darwyn Bush of Washington DC son of Mr and Mrs Vaden Bush of Whitewright A May wedding is planned.

The garden committee announced a Dallas garden show running April 19 through 27. Tom Mac Holmes of Trenton sponsored the entry as the 28th participant. Twenty members and one guest Mrs Ray of Bonham enjoyed salad and coffee refreshments.
The Whitewright Home Demonstration Club met March 27 at Mrs. W. L. Hatfield’s home. Members voted to donate six cakes to the Sherman Council bake sale on April 12 and elected Mrs. Tom Brown as representative to the Grayson County Federated Club meeting April 5 at the Grayson Hotel. The report covered assisting a patient at Abilene State Hospital with gifts and cards. A glove making demonstration was given by Mrs. Joe Miller and Mrs. R. A. Vestal. The next meeting is April 10 at Mrs. Fred Cook Sr.’s home.
Regular meetings of the Little Rock Home Demonstration Club were held at the club house in March.
Miss Zelma Moore led an all day meeting on March 14 with dress review pictures and a discussion on childrens clothing patterns. A covered dish luncheon served at noon for eight members, plus new member Mrs. Alvi Worsham.
