Bass Catch 5 Catfish At Local Lake Near Bells
Two Bass fishermen caught 21 pounds of channel catfish Saturday at a nearby lake when the water level dropped two inches for their fishing trip. Pictured is Woodrow E. Bass of Carrollton who came up for the week.

Whitewright FFA wins at Leonard Livestock Show
Gary Christian of the Whitewright FFA chapter showed the Grand Champion Gilt at Leonard Livestock Show, with his Duroc gilt placing first then chosen best over other first place swine. Randy Wilson's lightweight Angus steer won its class and contended for Grand Champion steer. Other results include Jane Biggerstaff, Donald Caraway, Allan Harper and numerous members exhibiting cattle and hogs. The next show is April 3 at Dawson Memorial Arena with judging at 10 a.m. A UIL District Meet at Grayson County College occurs April 2 with students competing in multiple events. The Whitewright Historical Society meets April 7. A local fishing tale notes a seven and one-half pound catch by Woodrow and Otis Bass.
