About forty relatives gathered at Mr. and Mrs. Stafford Iseminger home to mark their twenty five years of marriage and to host a bridal shower for their son Howard and his prospective bride. Attendees included O G Talmage and family and Leslie Dodd and family.
A double wedding occurred at Rev. Paul Buck’s Westville Lutheran parsonage on Saturday afternoon October 8. Miss Lucy Hage married Harry C. Bos of Wanatah and Miss Marie Hage married Howard L. Iseminger of Westville. Attendants were Sophie Bos, Carl Hagenow, Alice Hagenow, and Emory Gust. The couples left for a brief auto tour and will reside in Wanatah, Indiana, R. R. 1.
Kempers hosted a large gathering at their home with many friends and relatives in attendance. Notable attendees included Barbara Kemper and family, Edward Badur and family, John Finske, David Rydzy and family, Alfred Kemper, Verne Loomis of Michigan City, Edward Snyder and family of Hammond, Wilbur Standiford and Louis Snyder and family of Otis, Edward Jardine, A. T. Rogers, James Smiley and family of Westville, Mayme Palacek of Chicago, and E. C. Link and family of Laporte.
Relatives report the death on Oct 5 at Coburg Montana of Mrs May Atwater Howe at age 46. She suffered apoplexy after an afternoon attack and was a telegraph operator for the Great Western railroad with her husband. Her parents Lewis and Anna Atwater, now deceased, influenced county schools and local papers.
A 25 percent price cut applies to all wall paper grades starting August 15. The notice promises room decoration and work included at the old paper price and urges readers to place orders promptly.
