Election returns from New Durham show Democratic candidate Mr. Herrold defeating Republican J. F. Outhcart by 58 votes in a Republican stronghold. Clinton township reelects Democratic trustee A. J. Rehm by 19, while county results favor Republicans with Crumpacker adding a gains in congress and other county offices tilted Republican. Weather and late-night bulletin service noted as factors.

Jackson township hosted a busy gathering with two hundred wagons and buggies and fifty Rough Riders on horseback. Wheeler, Center school teacher, reported the largest township attendance at fifty four. Franc Beech hauls potatoes to Valparaiso for thirty cents a bushel, yielding fifteen hundred bushels this season. Miss Jennie Barnard sang to a large Jackson Center crowd Sunday evening.
Dave Kelley of Wills township lost a finger and crushed two others in a husker while Jake Miller bought a place in New Englewood residents Joe Cisna returned home for a week and plans to vote and Mrs McHenry went back to Englewood last week.
