Schultz Will Challenged by Porter County Heiress in Probate Case

In Lake County Circuit Court the lawsuit Dorcas Covert vs Augustus Schultz and others seeks to set aside John Schultz will on grounds of unsound mind and undue influence. The case, moved from Lake to Laporte county, names Crumpacker Daly Loring Bozarth and judges Cass Weir for the plaintiff and Agnew Kelly Jones Nye for the defense. The verdict last Friday favored the plaintiff, who is one of seven Schultz heirs and daughter of the deceased. Attorney appeal to the Indiana Supreme Court is planned.

Hartman Dies at Home. Longtime German-born American

Christopher Hartman died at his home on Monday October 29 1900. Born December 31 1823 in Hense Damated Germany he emigrated in 1852. He married Mary E Barnes May 11 1856 and had four children G W Olive Jane W D Ivory B Ivory B died 1873. He had no known relatives in this country and was a Lutheran.
