Indiana G A R Elects Officers At Warsaw Meeting
The Indiana department of the Grand Army of the Republic elected officers in Warsaw last week with Rev. D. R. Lucas named commander and Charles W. Scott senior vice commander. The report lists 17 232 members and 452 deaths this year along with relief expenditures and balances. Next year’s meeting is set for Marion. The annual report also covers Indiana Soldier s and Sailors Orphan s Home showing 572 children, 90 admitted, 120 discharged, and 17 teachers praising patriotism in schools.

German immigrant dies after heart trouble near Corymbo
Mrs. Henry Bock died Tuesday at her home near Corymbo from heart trouble. Born in Germany forty one years ago August 29, she moved to Springfield township at age nine with her parents, Thomas and unknown Brown. She married Henry Bock in 1883 and is survived by her husband, four children, her mother, a sister and four brothers. Mrs Archie Orr, formerly of Laporte, drowned when a sailboat overturned on Teal Lake near Wabanee Michigan Monday. four people died. Orr's body was taken to Laporte for burial Wednesday. she leaves a husband and one daughter.

Damages Awarded in Monon Car Crash Cases
Administrators of Henry Spears and William Bragg estates sued the Chicago Indianapolis and Louisville Railway in Porter county circuit court Valparaiso. A car backed onto them at a Lacrosse siding, killing both men about a year ago. Jury awarded $5,500 in each case out of requested $10,000.
