A remarkable reunions occurs at Mrs Charles Daising home in La Porte as Mrs Deising and Mrs Katherina Hartman of Chicago meet their sister Mrs Christine Siefert of Bendigo Australia for the first time in forty years. Siefert travels with two daughters Misses Katherina and Johanna Siefert and plans a tour of the United States.

The Morrison against Lac La Belle Co case ended Saturday after a 24 hour plus deliberation. Judge Howard presided as the foreman announced a verdict while counsel and witnesses were kept in court for extended consultations. Morrison, formerly a Lac LaBelle director and now an Indianapolis bank cashier, sought $25,000 for services rendered.

Memorial Sunday services were held at the M E church at 11 o clock with a full edifice. G A B veterans and the W R C were present in force as choirs from Christian and Methodist churches sang. Bid Ballard gave the opening prayer and Ed W I Houston of the Christian church delivered a thoughtful sermon on true citizenship. The church was trimmed in patriotic colors and the day was bright and serene.

The Chicago Asian Pacific North Western Line offers personally conducted tours from Chicago to Yellowstone National Park and the Lewis and Clark Exposition in Portland Oregon. In New Buffalo Michigan on May 24 two young residents Mr George Young twenty four and Mrs Edith Young eighteen were lost in the Gallien river after a boat capsized following a fishing trip near the Pere Marquette bridge. The bodies were recovered by divers with Mrs Young found first at about 10 pm and Mr Young at 10:30 am. Both were respected in the community and no signs of violence were found.
A rapid receivers sale in Laporte yielded a 450000 stock deal for the Laporte and Michigan City Traction line. Edward Daniels foreclosed rights of the Chicago and South Shore Railway and arranged an Indiana Railway Company ownership via bonds to stockholders, with merger plans to absorb the lines under one name once intercity links are completed.
John G. Paul aged 71 died at his Michigan City home on May 24 after battling cancer. Born in Germany he emigrated to Michigan City in 1862. Survived by a widow and seven children: Mrs. Gus Radike Cool Spring Township. Herman. Gus. Albert. Mrs. Edward Kimball. Oto of Michigan City. Edward Pakl of Chicago.
Rev Carl Henry Sodergren a Lutheran pastor from Laporte dies in Chicago while visiting. He had served the past three years at Henderson Grove Illinois. Burial arrangements set for Burlington Iowa with the reunion noted.
Charles Briedgan, an inmate of the Poor Farm, died Monday evening from paralysis. He was 56 years old and had come to the farm from Westchester township in October 1901.
Mrs. Mary Denham of Washington township died May 23. A county resident for 40 years she left a legacy of good character and a wide circle of friends.
Speaker Cannon favors green corn and dines with an Illinois farmer at the Arlington. He eats seven ears and says he pays six dollars a day for board. The farmer jokes that boarding at a livery stable would be cheaper.

The Lake County jury returned verdict for Margaret Imgraet against Calumet Electric Railway Co. for damages of 15000 in a landmark personal injury action. Imgraet, from Pullman Illinois, was a July 1904 rider when a speeding car left the track, causing injuries and nervous distress.
