Mrs Rose McLaughlin died Tuesday morning at St Anthony's Hospital in Michigan City after a five year stay as a patient. Her son was listed as a survivor.

Library board elects seven directors and plans
The library association formed a seven member board led by Mrs Virginia Wight as president and Miss Crumpacker as secretary. Rosary Dr. Cass and other members were named directors. Architect W B Parker was commissioned to draft a one story brick building with basement 84 by 50, to serve as an assembly space, with basement later divisible into three rooms. A township tax of five tenths of a mill will raise about $900 annually for library upkeep as site selection proceeds.

Petition for Free Stone Road in New Durham Township
A notice to La Porte County officials petitions the board to improve a public highway in New Durham Township by grading draining and paving with crushed stone.
