Martha Potter Armitage died February 11 1904 at age 81 after a life spanning Mount Vernon Ohio to Indiana. Born 1823 she married John WG Armitage in 1845 and widowhood followed in 1872 she later married Devine Gerrad who died four years earlier. A devout member of the Mr Church she was famed for honesty generosity and loyalty. Funeral by Rev Smock was held Sunday at the M E church with burial west of town.
Alexander Frayer died at his Woodville home in Porter county on Friday after four years of paralysis. He was about 50, leaving a wife. Mrs. Jos. Hamilton of this place was Frayer’s sister and visited him regularly. Funeral services were held Sunday.
Willard Allison, son of John G. Allison of Elkhart Ind, who lived at Union Mills fifty years ago, died recently in Butte City Montana. He was about 40, unmarried, and left Elkhart years ago to work as a miner. Orie W. Allison is a telegraph operator at Sybil Arizona.
Mrs H E Carroll died at her Valparaiso home Sunday morning at age 70. She is survived by two sons and two daughters. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning with burial in Door Village cemetery.
Edward F Helmick aged 20 died Sunday at his parents home in Laporte from diabetes.
