Auditor C. H. Miller will distribute 60,838.38 dollars on December 21 among township trustees from road tax, extra tax, special school tax, township tax, tuition tax, and library tax. The list shows individual allocations totaling the final sum.

Fire at Willow Creek west of Crieman Station Porter county destroyed the interlocking tower serving Michigan Central B and O and Wabash lines. The roof fire started from a stove and, with no defense, the tower and its machinery were ruined. The system is out of service forcing trains to stop before crossing. Estimated loss about 5000 dollars and a new system will be installed.
