The 3-year-old girl of Mr and Mrs Addison Snell of Wanetab narrowly avoided death after mistaking concentrated lye for water. While the mother washed, the child drank from a cup of lye, collapsed, then recovered after milk and medical care. A physician treated her for several hours and she was saved from danger.
