British Troops Near Cambrai Press On In Fierce Fighting
British forces under General Byng tightened their hold around Cambrai as they seized high ground near Routl on Wood and pushed west of the town. The drive yielded nearly 10 000 prisoners and 100 guns with heavy fighting reported across the line as British gunners even fired captured enemy pieces.

U S Warships Capture U Boat in Bold Atlantic Action
American destroyers hunted a German U boat in the war zone and forced its surrender after depth charges disabled the vessel. About forty German crewmen became prisoners when the submarine surfaced and was boarded, then sank after valves were opened.
