Mysterious Case of Highway Robbery Near Winston
A young man, L. B. Peace, 23, brother of W. J. Peace, left Winston for Granville county with several hundred dollars and land deed. A Greensboro horse purchase soon after arouses suspicion of foul play, suggesting Peace was robbed and killed on the road, with his money and horse disposed of to avert pursuit. Telegrams from Durham hint at ongoing court sessions and local notices amid weather and commerce updates.
