The Luck and the Oak Chance Courtship Tale
A narrator recalls stealthy visits by Fizsimmons and a plan to declare love to Mary in a tense kitchen scene. After two failed attempts, a third moment arrives in the oak kitchen with Mary present. A comical cook interruption and a hard learned rule on courtship close the tale as a humorous moral.
