Closing Week of School at Trego County High in 1921

The 1921 closing week at Trego County High School began May 15 with the baccalaureate at the high school auditorium. Rev McHenry spoke on preparation for life, stressing education and faith, and urging vision and service. Eighth grade exercises followed with Rev Heizer delivering the address on “A Person.” The day concluded with music, a violin solo, and a benediction. Tomorrow night the finals and a reception at Prof Niesley’s home end the ceremonies.

Keene Shrine Display Best delegation from WaKeeney in Hays ceremony

Four hundred fifty six novices took the Shrine at Hays last Thursday. WaKeeney sent forty two, the largest delegation from a town its size in western Kansas. The WaKeeney group wore uniform attire and was escorted by a matching band, praised as the best trained and best escorted.

Lutheran Church Notes Sunday Services and Sunday School

English language services at 4 30 p m and Sunday School at 11 30 a m announced. A meeting of Trego County Fair Association directors is held this afternoon to discuss fall fair matters and urge community planning for calves pigs or chickens to enter the event.
