The piece argues for erecting a hospital as a national and community memorial to World War II dead and veterans from small towns. It notes hospital shortages in Trego County, cites local patient counts, and urges rapid hospital construction to meet rising care needs amid epidemics, accidents, and nurse shortages. It also mentions Miss Lettie Rhoades’s death and local obituaries within the issue.
