Stockholders and directors met at the courthouse last Saturday afternoon. The books show a 5500 capital gain for the year and a twelve and a half percent stock dividend in addition to the usual cash dividend. A big farmers picnic is to be held on the courthouse lawn soon, with plans for a new store building once conditions normalize.
MM. W. Mase Ady offers fifty young cows and five yearling bulls for sale. Local cattle sale notice remarks on healthy stock and reasonable terms.
The Farmers elevator begins selling a Titan tractor that runs exclusively on kerosene. An engine sample is on display at the elevator. A Kentucky jack was seen traveling east on Russell avenue on Thursday afternoon behind a Ford car, appearing unbothered by the ride.
Newly elected United Nations style city council members convened their first regular meeting on Monday night May 7. The administration is organized with each member assigned a special duty. No new appointments were confirmed. Committees were named including improvements and sanitation, with the Good Will society receiving a $250 appropriation to beautify Keeney Cemetery.
Twenty eight business and professional men from Colorado Springs and Manitou travel in seven cars on a sociability tour through Kansas Oklahoma and Missouri. They depart May 8 with a Wa Keeney lunch stop May 18 and proposal that Wa Keeney hosts foot lunch bill. May 15 is the visit date with one hour fifteen minutes in Wa Keeney.
