W F Teague of Collyer owns a sixteen day test grade Holstein cow producing 1609.8 pounds of milk in thirty days with an average fat test of 3.749 percent and a highest test of 5.5 percent. At 49 cents a pound, this would equal about 75 pounds of butter. The cow was fed no grain, milked three times daily, and the owner notes the annual milk value exceeds that of a typical beef cow. The World invites reports from farmers who match or approach this record. The passage also covers National Editorial Association advertising-rate guidance for small papers, noting The World’s rate of 15c versus recommended 30c–35c.
