Abduction attempt shocks Kansas farm district
In Hays County Kansas the community roused by an alleged abduction attempt on 17 year old Ida Wilson last Wednesday night. Sheriff reports barefoot prints and a gagged girl led to a car ride six miles from home before she escaped into a wheat field. Two local youths found her and alerted authorities. a harvest worker, Walter Poe, was later arrested on a farm warrant tied to the case. Local labor and livestock market notes follow with prices and conditions across beef, hogs, sheep, and goats, and a state employment letter warns of possible harvest labor shortages.
