Eye Ear Nose Throat Specialist to Visit Salina

Dr M J Brown of Salina will be at the American House on Tuesday June 6 to examine and treat eye ear nose and throat diseases with scientific methods. The notice lists locations dates and the physician’s specialty for medical and surgical care.

Wheat crop failure and rainfall save Osbornes fields

In 1891 a drought hit wheat and corn, but May rains revived yields. W A Ware’s fifty acre field suffered worst with potential loss, yet by late May yields rose to twenty five bushels per acre, some fields topping forty. Excess moisture ruined stacks. farmers now stack differently. Jetmore reports an elephant killed after a wild show visit. The two ton animal valued at 2500 and blamed on mismanagement.

Decoration Day Observed In Trego County

Decoration Day activities drew attendees from miles around with twenty decorated autos taking children to the cemetery to honor soldiers. Hon. Chas. Harger of Abilene delivered the day’s address at 2:30 pm in a packed courthouse chamber. The state health board orders a six week county wide cleanliness drive on hotels and restaurants with inspections and potential prosecutions for violations.

Wa Keeney tops Collyer in 13 inning league thriller

Wa Keeney closed the Trego League schedule with seven straight wins by beating Collyer 5 to 4 in thirteen innings. The game swung on a late tie, an eleventh inning two run burst by Collyer, and Wa Keeney’s decisive run after one down in the thirteenth. plus other content on attorney general remarks and local business.
