Rain is needed. Harvesting is in full progress with several locals involving Banner Ness County and nearby towns. Miss Flossie Snyder visits Ness Co. this week. Miss Pearl Hall guests of Myrna Biehler. C. B. Baker visits Logan County. many neighbors gather at E L Boice’s on the eve of the fourth for a jolly celebration.

Big Creek Flood Destroys Bridges and Crops

Saturated ground and heavy rain caused severe damage from Wa Keeney to Hays City. The flood washed out all Spring Creek bridges and moved Big Creek structures toward Hays City. John Glass and T. Feezer reported substantial wheat bailouts and corn losses, with trees toppled and machinery broken.

Death of Henry Spena at 27. services held in city

Henry Spena died after a sun stroke and illness at his mother's home. Born in Trego county and raised in the city, he would have turned 27 if he survived. Survived by four mother, six brothers, and one sister. funeral at Presbyterian church conducted by Rev. Everett and Rev. Scott, with many floral offerings. Interment at Wa-Keeneey cemetery. World News extends sympathy.
