Community Fair Highlights And Fireworks At Stockton
A Stockton area fair entertained a fair crowd with evening fireworks and races for children and adults. The event included bicycle races, foot races for boys and girls, a pony race, a cowboy relay, and a one eighth mile horse race. A baseball game between Collyer and Wa Keeney drew lengthy attention but ended 10 to 5 for Collyer due to Wa Keeney’s injured pitcher. James Webster of Stockton hauled six hog carloads by auto in a single day, saving about $40 versus horse transport, marking a notable local economy.

The largest acreage of wheat ever sown in Trego county is now being harvested as thousands work across the county. Heavy spring weather altered ripening, causing some yield loss, but overall quality and total production are expected to be high.
