Price Hikes Announced For World Publication

Beginning March 4 the World will raise its yearly price to 1.00. Most goods including drugs food hardware and clothing have doubled or tripled. Print shop materials especially paper and inks have surged. City dailies and Sixth district papers also increased subscriptions. Readers urged to renew and join a liberal club offer.

Minnie Els Oliver born Sparta Wisconsin December 22 1868 died 1916 in Wa Keeney after long illness. She married Herbert Springer of Chetek Wisconsin and had four children Julia Jennie Charles Jay three survived. Her husband and first child Julia died earlier. she later married David G Percy and had stepchildren. Card of thanks from the family. James Alexander Mumert born Whiteside County Illinois December 21 1857 died December 23 1916 in Trego County Kansas aged 50 years eight days. He married Rose Ellen Alaskins in White Rock Kansas. Survived by two sons three daughters and his wife. Funeral services held at Methodist church in Wa Keeney. buried Wa Keeney cemetery. Also card of thanks from the family.
