Obituary of Ella A. Bryant Cypher in Wa Keeney Kansas
Ella A. Bryant daughter of E. F. Bryant and wife of David E. Cypher was born April 10 1880 near Wa Keeney Kansas and died December 21 1911 at St. Joseph Hospital Kansas City aged 31 years eight months eleven days. Funeral services by Rev S L Allison were held at Wa Keeney with interment in the Wa Keeney cemetery. Her death brings sorrow to her parents sister brother and her husband and four children who mourn a beloved wife mother and neighbor.

Berwick of Wa Keem in a home ceremony led by Rev. George Boone Van Arsdale. The bride, known in Denver circles, and Mr. Berwick, foreman at the World office, were presented with many gifts and welcomed to Wa Keeney with congratulations for a joyful, prosperous married life.

Train maroons crew after snowdrift blocks route northbound
The Scott City Northern train from Winona to Scott City became stuck in a deep snowdrift after leaving Russell Springs at 3 30 PM. With no shelter or food seven miles from the nearest house the crew and passengers improvised a meal using roasted chickens from an express car and cheese. They waited twenty four hours for help before rescue at dawn.
