Frozen Death Of D. S. Taylor On Prairie Near Utica
D. S. Taylor was found frozen to death on the prairie about three and a half miles northeast of town after wandering from Utica Tuesday night. A search party found his body about a quarter mile southeast of where the team was tied to a fence. he had struggled for warmth and crawled on his hands and knees before dying. He was 56, left a wife and three children, and funeral services were set for Friday at the M. E. church conducted by Rev. Reed.

Trainmen Struggle With Snowbound UP Line Wrecks
The Union Pacific faced heavy snow that delayed trains for up to eighteen hours. A freight wreck west of Wa Keeney prompted rapid wrecking efforts from Denver, but drifting snow blocked the routes. Additional engines dispatched to aid wreckers were halted by the same drifts, trapping several passenger and freight trains.

Haskell married on January 1, 1912 at Bert Smith’s residence near Oakley after travel delays and a blocked main line left them unable to reach Wa Keeney or Sharon Springs. Rev. W. E.
