New Church at Victoria Dedicated in 1911 Kansas
The Victoria Kansas church, 220 feet long with seating for 1100, will be dedicated on Sunday August 27 by Rt Rev John F Cunningham of Concordia. Construction began in 1908 using Bedford limnestone and gray Vermont granite with a grand ceremony expected to draw visitors. a special Ellis Victoria train runs 530 am and 300 pm. A Pontifical High Mass and sermons planned with an illustrated souvenir for attendees. Jurors for September 1911 term listed. 36 names, first eighteen to appear Sept 20 and last eighteen held in reserve.

New Royal Superintendent Named for Poultry Section Show
Adam Thompson chosen to succeed Thomas Southard as superintendent of the poultry division at the American Royal stock show to be held at the Kansas City stock yards the week of October 9. Thompson, a renowned game fowl breeder with numerous ribbons, belongs to the Southwest Poultry Raisers' association. The 1911 poultry exhibit will be larger and housed in a new building under construction. Exhibitors may enter for display value and prestige, not just cash prizes. Helen Lyon Briggs, born October 21, 1835, in Hamburg, New York, died August 10, 1911, in Trego County Kansas aged 77 years. Plea Guilty in District Court Ends in Indeterminate Term
Wayne K. Stalmaker pleaded guilty in an adjourned district court session. He received an indeterminate sentence of two and one half to ten and one half years in the state penitentiary at Lansing. Sterlif Miller is reported to have escorted him to begin serving the sentence the same evening.
