Obituary for Co J Ferris of Wa Keeney Kansas
Co J Ferris born 1831 in Reecay township Herkimer died March 22 in Kansas City Mo. He moved often for health then settled in Wa Keeney Kansas serving as county surveyor for about twenty years. He built Ferris House in 1585 and kept a hospitable home. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church with Masonic rites at the grave. Survived by wife and children in Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and other places. A. S. Peacock extends thanks for support.

D L McCarty Dies at Topeka State Hospital
D L McCarty died March 25 at the Topeka State Hospital after two months of mental treatment. His body was moved to Wa Keeney for burial beside his wife in the city cemetery per his wish. Funeral services were held at J J Drummond's residence conducted by Rev. Mr. Allison of Norton, with Trego Post G A R in charge. Mack, as he was known, came to the area with his wife about eighteen years ago. her death occurred around 1904. Relatives, if any, are not known.
